Eddie

Eddie started his career in the jewellery industry at the age of fifteen as an apprentice at  one of the Country’s leading jewellery manufactures from 1971 to 1983. During this time he gained knowledge and experience of the manufacturing of jewellery

Following the recession in the early 1980’s Eddie opened up his own business in Spencer Street, in the heart of Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter. Here as a master pattern maker he has run a successful business making  the master patterns for jewellery sold by the retail trade as well as handmade bespoke jewellery for designers and individual private customers.

Over the years Eddie has gained enormous experience in all aspects of the jewellery industry much of which he has passed on to others through his teaching ability. From 1998 /2005 Eddie was a Visiting Lecturer at the University Central England (UCE) School of Jewellery.

During these years he taught students enrolled in the City and Guilds Certificate in Jewellery and taught on various short courses including the soldering saw piercing and wirework course. These courses were designed to give a good grounding in the techniques of producing hand made items in precious metals.  His ability to pass his knowledge and skills on to other people is among one of the reasons for him starting up this new venture.

Eddie is hard working and friendly. His extensive knowledge and experience enables him to work under the pressure which is experienced at times in this industry. It is this which has resulted in his successful business.

It is his talent, experience and teaching ability that Eddie brings to the other side of the coin of Quo Vadis Jewellery.

Sarah

Showing an enthusiastic interest and talent in art from a young age, Sarah began her career in the jewellery industry fifteen years ago and served her apprenticeship at one of the UK’s leading manufacturers. During this time she gained knowledge and experience in all aspects of the industry, including all the stages involved in creating fine jewellery.

Making full use of this knowledge, over the following years, Sarah has been a design consultant and trouble shooter to some of this Country’s leading manufacturers. With her ability and experience she has also run her own jewellery business for the last ten years, catering for customers who wish to own hand made bespoke jewellery.

Sarah’s great strengths to this new venture are her enthusiasm, artistic flair and  friendly personality. However, the ultimate key word here, for Sarah, is Design. This was Sarah’s first and main interest in the jewellery business and remains so to this day.  It will be this and her extensive knowledge and experience that Sarah brings to one half of the coin of Quo Vadis Jewellery.
